ZYkR is an electronic collective that lives somewhere between the electronica of Massive Attack and the experimentation of Velvet Underground; mixing equal parts glitch and ambient with riff-driven, lyric-heavy rock.

Led by Aseem Suri. Collective members include fellow Berklee College of Music alumni Pedro Zappa (Bass and Synths) and Donnie Hogue (Drums). The live band employs left-field electronic music techniques using triggers, samplers and loopers to create an experience that is as visual as it is aural. While singing about themes ranging from political inaction and paranoia, to addiction and voyeurism, ZYkR borrows from the culture of musique concrete, infusing performances with field recordings, speech samples, poetry and projections.

Hailing from New Delhi, India, Aseem Suri handles voice, production and programming for ZYkR. Aseem has performed with Grammy winning artists such as A.R.Rahman and Patrice Rushen on stages like the Boston Symphony Hall; presented his original poetry at events like the Boston Book Festival; and exhibited interactive multimedia installations at venues like the Boston World Trade Center. He has worked with pioneers of sound art such as Christopher Janney, and received recognition for his musical work from artists like Nicolas Jaar. His personal installation work has been presented at galleries, curated exhibitions and conferences, including the 2nd International Csound Conference and FIGMENT Interactive Art Festival 2016

An Atlanta native, Donnie has toured the country with acts ranging from experimental rock to indie/folk playing stages like SXSW and Great South Bay Festival, before moving to New York to further his music and artistic pursuits. The sounds and technology of ZYkR offered him the perfect place to develop his love for experimentation within his craft. Using triggers and samplers, Donnie creates modern music while still retaining an old school approach

Born in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal, Pedro Zappa handles bass and synths for ZYkR. Having performed with artists from all walks of life, including but not limited to Dream Theater, Stone Giant, Parekh and Singh, and The Frotations. He has performed all over the world on stages like Lollapalooza and Boston Opera House. With ZYkR, Pedro exercises his creative and analytical mind combining his unbridled joy towards music with his love for pushing the envelope.
